Members RyanLane Posted September 9, 2016 Members Posted September 9, 2016 Was going to head to KDock or Tucker Hollow and spend tomorrow afternoon early evening doing some fishing. Only fished Bull Shoals once 4-5 years ago with Mr. Worley with my old man. Had a great time. Moved down to Springfield about a year and a half ago, got a fishing boat now so trying to get out some. Any advice on fishing around this area? Really like the walleye fishing, but know it may be a tough time right now. Was back at the families in central Kansas over the weekend and we hammered the white bass on the wind blown banks. The shad were really grouped up and the white bass were having a feast. Caught plenty that already had 1 or 2 in their mouth already. Figured I would look for shad and do some general exploring. Never been on the lake around this area. When we went with Mike we stayed at the Wagon Wheel and went from there. Thanks fellas. ericangler 1

Members RyanLane Posted September 12, 2016 Author Members Posted September 12, 2016 Well I got the boat ramp and things didn't work out very well....quite quickly. Had a dead cranking battery. So I switched batteries and played that game for awhile. Didn't end up fishing for as long as I had hoped. Marked a huge amount of shad just around the point from the KDock boat ramp to the north. That cove was loaded with shad and fish feeding on them. I couldn't get a single one to take anything though. I tried trolling through, bottom bouncing through, topwater, binks spooning......you name it and couldn't get a hit. Not sure what was feeding on those shad.........I guess I assumed mostly white bass but again just no luck triggering any action. That big flat right out from the boat ramp seems to me like would be a good bottom bouncing spot through summer......trolling it as well. Just wasn't any good for me Saturday.
duckydoty Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 My wife and I fished from the 76 bridge up to Powersite yesterday morning bottom bouncing crawler harnesses and trolling 7 mm flickershad 1.5-2 mph. Caught 4 short eyes and 3 short bass in 3 hours. Stayed in 15-20 fow till it got what I felt like was too hot to fish. Nice relaxing morning ou there. grizwilson 1 A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
