IL Fisherman, if you want a really good one-on-one tutorial when you get those units, hire Don House for a teaching guide trip. He's a guru on Humminbirds and is located at Blue Eye.

Great post, I'm in the same boat -ha.  Leaning toward Helix once the new line comes out in December.  Heard they will have networking capability on the 9 or 10, or which ever doesn't have that functionality now.  Also heard they might have some bluetooth functions.   Good luck.

They already have networking on the 9s on up.

Humminbird Tech Support told me 7s were not networkable when I bought by first 9 - I intend to buy another this Spring.  It's best to talk to Tech Support to see which units can be networked, As I recall Chirp units cannot be networked with nonChip units???
