Seth Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 I'm finally going to make it down for one of Phil's tournaments. Anybody else on the forum besides @Gatorjet going to be fishing it? If you are, say hello. I'll be in the orange Legend SS WITHOUT a power pole. A guy I know is planning on fishing it and has a similar rig, but he has a power pole on his. duckydoty and Trout Bum93 2

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 19, 2017 Root Admin Posted January 19, 2017 Cool. I think we're going to have a good turnout. That 17 pound brown stirred a lot of interested a couple of weeks ago. Seth and Trout Bum93 2
Members cracklebak Posted January 19, 2017 Members Posted January 19, 2017 I originally planned to fish the tournament, but due to a change in personnel, myself and two others will be wade fishing likely between the dam and lookout. Heading that way in a few hours and will stay until Saturday. Plan is to do some night fishing as well. May swing by for the weigh-in. Hope to see some big fish brought in for the tourney.... or in my own net, that would be OK too. There's just nothing better than one of those 5lb and up Taneycomo brown trout in my frying pan!
hillbillyflyshack Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 My fiance and I will be fishing the Masters in white and blue G-3 f/s but would really like to know why anyone would eat a 5lb brown trout when there are so many smaller trout you could put in the pan. Do you have any idea how long it takes to grow one that big and the joy someone else would get to catch a trophy like that if you released it to fight again. Just my 2 cents. Seth 1
Members Trout Bum93 Posted January 20, 2017 Members Posted January 20, 2017 @Seth me and my buddy will be there in his ranger bass boat. Looking forward to it! Seth 1

Good luck in the tourney Pete! Especially since I won't be able to make it. You know all about those 17 lb. browns

Just my 2 cents. @hillbillyflyshack I was joking... eating a big brown would be about as "distasteful" as perhaps my joking around was..... Looks like a decent turnout for the tourney from what I saw on FB. We sure had a tough time last weekend finding out what they wanted whether it be fly rods or spinning rods.
