Wow, that's gonna add up to a pretty good chunk by the end of the year.  What are their plans for all that extra dough ?

Is the swimming beach still free?

A $10 fee should include someone launching you and parking your truck, then fetching it when you return.   I mean that's equal to 5 trips across the toll bridge just to drive over a 46 year old slab of concrete.

Legit question. How many people do you think put in there and never pay the fee? Also, do you think anything ever happens to them?

Same questions for Pa He Tsi.

My guess is there are quite a few people that never pay and that there are very few repercussions. I really have no idea though.

Also, that fee seems like way too much. Problem is, there are few public ramps on this lake. Especially for how big it is.

What exactly does that fee go towards?  How much money is needed to maintain that area?  Can't be that much...  I'd think that launch would see what, around 50,000 launches a year?  That'll be half a million $ a year.  Seems excessive.

I'd say that they have figured out that even if it was 30.00 per boat the parking lot would still be full most days during the season.  By keeping it as "low" as 10.00 they are doing you a twenty-dollar favor.  ?

Things get a little too crowded around there at times, so maybe they are just trying to thin out the rif-raf a bit.

Saw this on Facebook and it is so to the truth

Why don't taxpayers trust government?  Let me give an example:  In Nov of 2016 Missourians approved a 10 year extension of the Parks and Soils sales tax that goes to the Department of Natural Resources.  In January of 2017 DNR DOUBLED the fee to launch a boat at the Grand Glaize ramp from $5 to $10.  So it now costs $10 to launch a 16 foot johnboat at this ramp.  Just as an FYI, this is the only state park in MO that has ever charged any fee to launch.

We extend the sales tax for parks and then the parks division puts it in our shorts by doubling the fee to launch a boat.  I encourage all Missourians to contact Governor Greitens office at 573-751-3222 and ask the Governor to rescind this fee and get the bureaucrats at DNR under control!!!!!

An that's why I don't trust government, especially the bureaucrats at the MO DNR.

I have my doubts that howling at the Governor is going to change anything.  If you don't wanna pay it then don't launch there.   Let the parking lots set empty for a month or so and they'll get the message.  If the parking lots DON'T set empty then they win.

I'm sure Bassin Bob (or some other high profile icon) will figure out a friendly way to fund a nice ramp for poor fishermen with Poorboy boats in that area before long.

Seriously though, they've been paying attention, and they noticed that fishermen will gladly pay insane prices for things.  They aren't gonna be left in the wake of that.

Well I definitely will not be renewing my yearly pass that is for sure. Howling at the Governors can't hurt, it works for other groups ?. Yep, fisherman are there own enemy sometimes

you are correct Wrench in saying they realize they will pay more.  But, you and I paid for that ramp in taxes.  Public...........beach..........  What part of public entitles them to charge for a ramp paid for by our taxes.  In 10 years, any "public" ramp will have a charge to launch.  Even on river MDC accesses.  Don't even get me started about the Corps charging launch fees, thank you Mr. Clinton.
