They were almost inedible last night.  Not sure why, but really woody.  Maybe too old.  I don't know.  Salad was good.  First time she had made it.  Raw yellow squash and northern beans with pesto sauce.

The BilletHead harvested some wild garlic today,

More rain last night. Softened the ground real good so I decided to go pull some wild garlic,

Some smaller heads in there and some nice ones too. Just have to use more smaller ones in dishes. Got the tops cut off, bundles made and hung to dry in the shop. Have more spotted along the back roads so may look for more.

BilletHead will have garlic breath and so will Mrs. BilletHead.

Nice haul!  And you didn't even have to plant!

Kind of fun foraging. The looks you get from folks that can see you from the road :)

Never heard of wild garlic until you mentioned it. Those big heads are as big as the best I've grown in my carefully maintained garden.

Sometimes you just need to let mother nature do all the work. That or raid thy neighbors garden :D,

Garden is doing good. Got some of the small heirlooms finally starting to set some fruit. The hybrid maters have been for a while but the squirrels had been eating everything. a few weeks, lots of frustration. Netting the whole garden in, and a pellet gun I'm finally starting to see some actual fruit! Tomatoes, melons, squash, zuchini, watermelon, peppers galore.. all finally starting to put fruit out now. I think the squirrels were getting it a whole lot worse than I realized.

Bush beans are petering out -- will pull them and replant for fall at the end of this month. Beginning to get beets in for pickling. Will replant for fall also. Maters are looking healthy for the first time in a few years as I've been more diligent about taking care of them. Lotsa slicing maters coming on but only one in the house so far. Getting 5-10 Sun Gold cherries a day, which is just about right.

I may have posted that pic somewhere else here...

BilletHead better cough up a report,

Tomatoes are thick on most plants. Fighting the yellow leaf with dark patches on most plants too. I still am blaming it on the ultra wet weather. Had close to five inches in the last couple of weeks. Even in raised beds kind of wet in my opinion. I just clip of the bad leaves ever few days but the tomatoes are set well so it is what it is. Just dealing with it!

Our first cherry tomatoes will be picked tomorrow.  Planted some stevia plants. Super sweet, why? Just cuz I wanted to :) . Wanting to try to muddle some in some tea for a sugarless sweet tea version. Maybe try that tomorrow?

Blackberries need to be picked daily now. Have not froze any just putting a bug giant handful in my homemade granola cereal daily,

Then the straight neck squash is providing,

Herbs so many herbs and no problem there:) .

Sadly the pepper crop sucks big time. Again blame it on the wet. Not sure what will come of it yet. Really disappointing. Great flower display here in BilletHeadVille. The yard bee hive bees are not using them but the bumblebees and butterflies and hummingbirds are happy. Frigging Japanese beetles are reeking havoc on some things. I do a walk twice or more a day capturing what I can reach and put them in a container. Forty or more beetles daily. Shake them up scrambling their brains. Dump them in the little garden pond for the fish. Really good entertainment for me. The green sunfish and bass go ape crap crazy on them :)
