Kramr Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Hi everyone, Haven't been to Norfork for several years but coming back this spring. Will be targeting walleye, crappie, and stripers. Trying to figure out where to stay and where to fish. Will the walleye be on points and flats? Are the crappie spawning? Are the stripers still shallow? What part of the lake and which arm should we concentrate on? Recommendations on where to stay. Thanks, K
Members o2bnMO Posted February 16, 2017 Members Posted February 16, 2017 Kramr from what I've been told the south end in the spring north end in late fall. Places to stay on the Big Creek arm are Handcove resort and Jordan marina. Some guys are staying at blackburns resort and going down lake to fish the first couple of wks of April Kramr 1
mojorig Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 May is a great time for early morning top water action for striped bass and hybrid striped bass in the mid to lower end of the lake. Walleye should be in those locations listed. Crappie will be done spawning. It appears it is going to be an early spring so things might be ahead of schedule by the time you come to Norfork. Kramr Posted February 20, 2017 Author Posted February 20, 2017 Mojorig, Will you be participating in the BC fishing tournament? K
mojorig Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 This year it is on Guntersville so I wont be fishing it. Unfortunately, I don't get to fish them when they are back in Arkansas anymore because I'm busy helping with fish care during the tournament. Ham Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 I promised I would fish one if they held on Bull Shoals and I did, but no promises to fish more of them going forward . Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Members ZX190Jones Posted February 22, 2017 Members Posted February 22, 2017 Hummingbird hideaway and Blackburns have some pretty good fishing reports they are close to the Henderson bridge. Both of the guys fish alot and know what they are doing. We go every year around the 3 weekend of April and have good luck with bass on live bait and usually get on topwater early and late in the day. The guy at Handcove is not the friendliest guy I know! Lol
