It's that time of year guys. Make sure you get it done before the OAF Tournament.

It is this time of year that I really enjoy having the lifetime permit. I only wish I had purchased it back when I was a teenager and it was really cheap.

So easy to do now with the app and doing it online.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

They checked a guy and his neighbor while crappie fishing off their docks over the weekend. Asked both to see their fish but didn't ask either one to show a fishing license.  Whaddaya make of that?

That seems weird.

Yeah, but here's the thing, and it's kinda funny if you have a sense of humor similar to mine..

During the Winter-Spring-Fall alot of "lake folk" drive around and fish off of each other's docks. If a MDC agent comes cruising up in a boat and asks for a fishing license, the fisherman says "ooops left my wallet on the table,  I'll go get it".  Guy walks up the hill, gets in his car and leaves.   The agent sits and scratches his @ss until he eventually figures out he got punked.  "Gee I wonder who that guy with no ID was?".

Unless MDC agents are given retina scanners, handcuffs, tasers, and are quick enough to tie up their boat, hop out and still outrun the dude with 20 short crappie and no fishing license up the hill.......Yeah, not much sense in even trying to enforce that type of non-compliance, is there?

An agent in a boat is not much of a threat to a guy on land.  The only people that are gonna stick around when they see a game warden idling in are the ones that are 100% legal.     I guess the MDC didn't consider that when they bought 3 brand new Regal boats to patrol dock fishermen on LO with.  How many fishing violation fines does it take to pay for and maintain 3 new boats ?

Yeah I dunno either. ? Maybe renting would have been a better option.

Good points. Some folks are certainly more clever than I. I never thought about it that way, Wrench, but it does make sense.

Also, since when does the MDC do anything that makes sense? Especially financial sense?
