WeekendWarrior Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 The "patterns" have been pretty much the same, for the 30+ years I have been fishing that lake. Tell me the date, water temp and weather that day and I know what I'll have tied on and what areas to hit. Same for any lake, fish are programmed to eat and survive, they do not think. Well like I said it may not be for everyone but for ME it is worth the $45 to have access to up to date info on fishing reports or tourney results and general info regarding fishing at LOZ. Most of the circuits post the results on their own pages for free. I can see it being convenient to have it all in one place for some though. How often do you think the claimed winning patterns or baits are the truth in the "reports" If I'm fishing back to back derby's and think I'm on something special or different I'm sure as hell not shouting it to the world...nor would anyone else. I know for a fact some of the big bags so far this spring were caught on something other than reported on BB. Ed, sorry to derail your thread love the reports from a real person, keep em coming! conorsixtakc 1
fishinwrench Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 I'm certainly not going to knock what BB has going on, if he is making money then he is being successful. As for the fishermen.....If they are spending real estate prices for boats, thousands on sonar equipment, and thousands more every year on new baits..... I'm not gonna pick on them for spending 45 bucks a year for networking. I'm lucky because of what I do for a living, I get to network with tons of good fishermen and get fresh details daily. To say that it helps a little would be an understatement. It helps ALOT. I gotta admit though that most of the best bass info comes from crappie and catfishermen that mention running across schools of bass. They are usually irritated by it, but when you are a bass fisherman their info can be solid gold. The most useful information isn't specific details, but rather little tidbits that put ideas in your head. More times than not those ideas end up working great. mixermarkb, WeekendWarrior, Wart 57 and 2 others 5

I think most of the time the reports are the truth but yes you will not give up something if doing something a little different especially fishing both days, common sense. Most times it is not necessarily the bait anyhow, it's the location. Everyone knows what most of the big bags are being caught on this spring, not really a secret. conorsixtakc 1

Ed Franko Posted March 26, 2017 Author Posted March 26, 2017 HELLO EVERYONE Looks Like I have been gone for a few days and this place is hopping. Well any info you can get is good..Define good Ed !Good is it might give you a idea of what to do and what to expect... Bad is it sometimes get you so confused that you will spend countless $ buying all of the hot stuff .Bad is running all over the lake trying to find that magic bunch of fish.Finding out sometimes it is right under your nose. .However don't believe everything you read unless it is from me...JUST KIDDING we all know fisherman never lie.. I know several of the guys that are on BB website and they are great fisherman as well as fellow guides. BB does do a wonderful job promoting the lake and helping with tournaments. He supports the fisherman way more than you will ever know. I advertise with him at a cost of well over a thousand dollars a year. Do I enjoy spending that money WELL... Not wanting to get anyones undies in a knot.... Please enough of the BB discussion on this thread. Truefully I use this site for three reasons... 1) To promote Beautiful Lake of the Ozarks and it amazing fishing. 2) Promote my guide business... Big Ed's Guide Service biged'sguideservice. 3) Use it for a personal fishing journal. I use two other sites for the same reason and have for several years. OPPS BETTER MAKE IT FOUR and the list could go on and on 4) To meet other people that love to fish and give me another point of view..Friends are always welcome.. So with all of this being said ... Lets go fishing boys... WeekendWarrior and MOsmallies 2
Ed Franko Posted March 28, 2017 Author Posted March 28, 2017 Air temp ; mid 50s windy misty rain and real cloudy. Lake steady in the 654 range.. The water is clear for LOZ and in the low to mid 50s Good evening on the lake today.. I really did not think that the bite would be worth anything however I was wrong way wrong. Went out this evening and fished some wind driven banks. We caught fish on a Spinnerbaits,Crankbaits and a Jig. The fish seemed to be way more aggressive than they had been and really let you know when they bit. We caught fish on secondary points and in the backs of the coves. I though the weekend pressure would of really shut them down but found out that was far from the truth. Some amazing stringers came in this past weekend proving that Lake of the Ozarks is a great fishery. Our best five this evening would of been 18 plus. Not bad for a 3.5 hour fishing trip. fishinwrench and Jbrant 2
shrapnel Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Amazing Ed. What area of the lake do you spend most of your time?
Ed Franko Posted March 28, 2017 Author Posted March 28, 2017 I live at about the 3.5 and spend most of my time fishing from the Dam to the Gravios.
Hydro 205 Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Thanks Ed. My son and I fished around the 8 to the 12 had one keeper in 2 days this weekend. We did exactly what you were doing. We couldn't figure them out.
