JohnF52 Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 It looks like the White River headwaters are far enough east and south to avoid all but the tail end of the coming storm. Almost all of it will skip off to the north. For a big flood on Beaver, it needs to rain a lot south and east of a line from West Fork, AR to Huntsville, AR. Most of Fayetteville, Springdale, and Rogers lies in the Illinois watershed.
bferg Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Started coming down steady here in Bentonville again. It does seem like a lot of this has gone further north. I have some friends in McDonald county MO and it is a bad situation up there.
Members derekburleson Posted April 30, 2017 Members Posted April 30, 2017 Flood gates opened 1 ft. at 7pm tonight, according to Alan Bland with the Corp.
JohnF52 Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Rain total here in the headwaters was 3.9 inches. It could have been a much worse Beaver Lake flood if the rain core had shifted 15 miles to the SE. Many places in Fayetteville reported over 7 inches.
Vinsott Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 I measured a total of 9.2" just east of downtown Rogers from my rain gauge.
