fowlthing Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Is it really helpful? or can side imaging do the same thing? It looks like it could be really helpful??
jeb Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Some like it, some not so much. My buddy has it on his boat, and says he's going to sell it as it just does not help him. From what I read on the HB forums, seems it's a better shallow water tool, so maybe not as helpful on our deeper lakes. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Champ188 Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 I think if I was serious about buying that sort of technology, I'd have to give the Garmin Panoptix a look. It's a bit newer and pretty darn good from what I've heard ... if you are tekky enough to make it practical. MOstreamer, vernon and Sore Thumbs 3
97procraft Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 These things are very early in the overall development of the technology. I look at them as if they are in the "flasher" stage. I can not read one of those things, other than depth. To me the 360 and Panoptix will have to go through another couple of generations of upgrades before they are practical for my type of fishing. vernon, Champ188, fowlthing and 1 other 4
Sore Thumbs Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Panoptix works. It's just too darn expensive.
Longball22 Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Agree on Panoptix. McLelland seems to like his.... https://www.bassmaster.com/news/mcclelland-takes-open-title
