blacknoseddace Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Took my wife up for some late afternoon fishing and put in by the dam. Fishing was tough. Flipped craws in brush and only had one hit but missed him. Jigged points, al la Dan style and caught nothing, but didn't see many fish on the depth finder either. Trolled for a while with Flicker Shad and my wife caught one nice Crappie and I caught a small one. Went back to the point and saw lots of fish on the screen but they showed no interest in spoons or jigs. My wife picked up the Ned rod and caught a 17" Walleye. I caught a drum on the pink jig. She caught a nice Crappie on Ned and it was time to go. Beautiful evening. Water temperature 71 degrees. Krazo, oghfm, Walleyedmike and 5 others 8
dan hufferd Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Sounds like a great day, and a good dinner. Use the wind to your favor, drag a nightcrawler over those points, try to keep it in that 25 to 30 range, if you get green goo go deeper. Sometimes a slip sinker and Aberdeen hook with a worm, is the best thing for eyes. When they are holding close to the bottom you will rarely see them on in the sonar. Thanks for sharing blacknoseddace, Walleyedmike and Krazo 3

Dkman Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Thanks for this info Dan. I am heading up next week. While I have caught walleye while crappie fishing I have never targeted them. Using this forum I had planned to try a nightcrawler on a jig head on deep points plus a Flicker Shad. Hope to update with good news. Thanks again dan hufferd, Krazo and Old dog 417 3
