Going to Atikoken area in a couple of weeks. Went last year and caught many, many smallmouth. Used wacky worms to catch 95% of them. Just about the only fish we targeted. But, saw many large to very large walleye while we were fishing for the bass. Any suggestions as to what lure, bait etc, we should have at the ready to throw to them.? We don't keep fish up there. (you're allowed very few fish of any kind to keep which is fine). Just need a little help in getting a few pics of nice walleye. Thanks.

Road runners baited with minnows and fished on points and humps and vertical jigging spoons such as a Binks 1/2 ounce. Maybe a jerk bait off wave washed rocks.

Good luck!

buzz baits for pike is a blast

For sure take some.  Don't forget your meeny tails, shad type plastics. Some floating jigheads if you do the leech, live bait action.   BUG SPRAY!

Caught these on a yellow curly tail with no leader at Rainy lake last year first week of June. and we will be heading there again in a couple weeks.

I actually did catch that pike on the curly tail with no leader while fishing for walleye.
