With the recent rains, grass growing plenty good at the lake shack.  With all the lawn mowin, weed pullin, pork belly smoking, and beer drinking, only managed to fish about an hour each Saturday and Sunday.  Big boat is a 30 yd swim/boat from the bank so went back to basics and sculled 10' jon boat around the cove.  Two 1/8 oz underspins with chartreuse grubs lasted me thru the weekend.  Caught 11 bass, 2 good ones, 3 crappie, one drum, and one channel cat.  They're all still swimming, uncharacteristically even the crappie.  Most in 3-5' of water.   Caught the crappie fishing inside the flooded forest flipping to trees, caught bass between new and old bank.

Surprising how much water has cleared over past week.  Estimate 3' visibility, water has a tea tint to it, wondering if it's tanins from all the leaves at the bottom.  Not sure at water temp, but at one time 6 kids were jumping off the dock, so estimate low 70's?

Thinking of going up by the Dam Thursday Cat Fishing.

Water is just too high where I normally go.

I fished the cove near the island on dam end of lake. We were unable to get any cats to bite.

Ok maybe you saved me a Trip. Water is still coming down which is never good.

Maybe change of plans. Fish Niangua River and do some Rifle Shooting.

Thanks Tehmilz4
