I am camping at Pomme de Terre state park and drove to Bennet on Sunday evening. I fished up at the island. I happened to run in to flyfishinfool and we had a great time chatting and fishing.  I had not run in to him on the stream for 5 years.  Fishing was slow but I did catch a couple of nice ones and had a couple break off.  A nice couple of hours in cool temps. I'll probably head back down some evening while I'm here at Pomme. I have another week here.

Glad to see you getting out, Jerry. How is the wife doing?? Hope all is going well. I should be back in MO sometime in the next couple weeks. Be glad to feel some moisture in the air and see something green.

You couldn't pick a Hotter time of year to come down.

Me I've been working on my swimming in local Pool. Need to go to our Cabin at Truman and do some fishing. I guess going to have another couple come with us.

Why are you not staying in this area or did you bring a Boat down. I always did good at Pomme State Park fishing off the Dock if it was raining.

How's the tent camping there ?   I wouldn't mind pitching camp there for a few days.  Would need access to a plug-in for a battery charger though.

Wrench, my wife, and her BFF from KC took the kids to Pomme earlier this summer. They stayed in loop 200 at Pittsburg. No fishing, just tubing & kayaking. They really enjoyed it and want to go back. Plenty of electric only sites in the CG, but no sites with water or sewer hookups. Camp near a spigot, and bring long hose.

Awesome, thanks.   Running water isn't a necessity for us, I just need access to 120v so I can recharge my TM batteries.

Me too Jerry.  You have me beat, haven't been lucky enough to get away with all the in-law hospital stays.  Since you have been able to get away will assume your better half is doing good!!

As far as feeling "moisture" in the air, I think I would settle for less humid conditions.  Pretty bad when you go out in the morning, its 75 degrees and you start breaking a sweat immediately.

Maybe this fall things will slow down.

I'm going to try the dock next time. A neighbor camping near me caught his limit. I went to Bennet to get in the cool stream.

Wife is doing well.  A little off balance sometimes but pretty good. I fished Bennett in a couple of evenings while we were camping at Pomme a week ago. Ran in to flyfishinfool I had not seen for 5 years.  He was up at the island where he usually fishes.  Fishing was a little slow but I caught a few nice ones. There are some nice fish in the stream.
