Anyone bought a Coast Guard Registered Vessel and gone through the ownership transfer process?  I was told it can take 60 days or more for the paperwork to go through, and can't get the boat stickered in MO until that happens...was also told that you don't need to get the boat stickered if it's a registered vessel.  Of course, I can't find a number to call the CG and actually ask a PERSON these questions.

I tried that, can't register...doesn't load 1/2 the time, seems like it is need of attention.  Probably fell victim of a facebook page.

Are you talking registered or documented?  Documented I've gone through broker and firm in Seattle that specializes in transfers all three times. Kim and associates, he is very highly thought of in the marine industry.  If you need more info pm me on other site.

I don't know the difference.  I was told I wouldn't have to pay sales tax, but the gov could take my 12 seater family boat if needed in an emergency!  lol.

It doesn't have to be an emergency.  If Trump decides he wants to go tubing you'd better have that thing gassed up and running sweet.

You will not have to pay sales tax, but it is not worth the money. and since the last administration your documentation that has to be renewed every year is now 25 bucks instead of free.  Trust me, it ain't worth the hassle.  unless you like paperwork:wacko:

Well it is already a registered vessel by the current owner, so I have paperwork either way it sounds like.  I have to file for a cancellation through the coast guard  to be able to get state numbers for it...it's actually quite a mess I think.  I really like my bass boat :)
