Does any one that fishes Stockton lake have a humminbird 1198 with side imaging? Mine isn't working properly and I was wondering if I could hook mine up to someone else's to determine if it's my unit or the transducer that needs fixed. Thank you!

Have you done any troubleshooting? There's usually a list of things on the Humminbird website to try. What kind of symptoms are you getting?

I have a 798c SI HD.  I would think the transducer are the same.  Check it out, be glad to help if I can.

Smacked one too many logs with my transducer and had to replace this year; after I installed the new I realized that mine had actually been losing definition over the last few years..every thump of debris seems to take something away.  Have a high speed ducer switched in as well and was able to confirm as it still worked fine.  Mounted my replacement a bit higher; lose resolution at a lower speed but don't care to buy another.

Left side on side imaging is fine, right side is blank. It worked fine one day, the next it didn't. Didn't hit anything that I know of, wasn't in any timber or shallow water.

Sorry I can't help with the hookup. If you're from the local area, Marine Repair Center in Springfield is an authorized service center for Humminbird, Lowrance, MinnKota and Motorguide...with a good reputation for quality work.

I had that issue a few years back, found a connection pin had broken... I remove my units each trip to protect and apparently a pin had a bend and I broke it off on installation ...... I have a portable set up could hook up would be glad to share but not sure when I will get that way again.
