Sprint21fter Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 I target places alot of fisherman don't dare to throw. I used to use 20-25lb flouro carbon but my hookup ratio went up using braid. I'm not a finesse guy even though it has its place on this pond. magicwormman 1
Old plug Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 You know you need to get one type of lure and learn it backwards and forwards how it reacts to different line and weights and the fishes resonse to it . I would suggest either a plastic worm ot a jig since many of the fundementals are the same for both. h they sink and how fast is part of your preentation. then therevis how different weights move throught the brush or over the rocks and ledges. You do not have to worry really about some exravegant color paterns either. generally something that matches nature like brown or brown green mix will be fine. no idea what you mean about "places most fisherman would never throw". I have never seen such places. Sounds to me like your trying to apply what you see and hear or read. Thats good I guess bit it does not realiy work that well. Experience cannot be beat.
Sprint21fter Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Old plug thats what I do. I can't give away all of the secrets (wait their isn't any) but it involves multiple top waters during the warm season. Thats my strong suit. After the water cools down its a spinnerbait 15lb, wart, rock crawler, jerkbait 8-10lb. I might throw a jig every once in a while .
Members rngr188 Posted October 11, 2017 Author Members Posted October 11, 2017 I have absolutely no confidence in a spinnerbait ever since I was a kid so I never threw them. Not that I live up here and that is one of the most productive lures I am going to have to learn it.

Your are showing a extreme lack of experience to nwny pf these guys on here.
Sprint21fter Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 Not too old 31years old. I'm wise beyond my years had some good mentors that fish this lake. Add, on the water experience and God given ability. Its a scary combination when it all comes together. magicwormman 1

Play with different retrieves and trailers. I have huge confidence in any blade with the name War Eagle on them. I recently bought a couple of Bo's blades, but haven't employed them just yet. My dad always threw one and was catching them, so I started following suit. My biggest reservation was that I would get them hung up a lot, like have chatterbaits. This has definitely not been the case, and as soon as I learned that my confidence went up and I started catching fish on them. Use one every time I go out now. We have taken a liking to the 3/8 oz booyah blades throwing them at wind blown banks.
