slothman Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Congrats on the reservation. I drew one for Friday 11/10 at four rivers, but I can't go. I absolutely have to be at work that day otherwise I'd be all over that. Get well hidden, play the sun and wind, and hopefully you can find the x. Get out there and wack em. Take some pictures. Good luck.

Good luck and make those memories Wily, Have not heard anything about Schell but do know for a fact they have been having some good shoots on four rivers not too far away from where you will be. Mrs. BilletHead and I hunted a small timber pond in the Horton bottoms. Seven green wing drakes yesterday morning. Two hour hunt. A mallard this morning in the same time span. DADAKOTA Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Be prepared to stay the entire day. Often times the last 2 hours are the best at Schell.
Members Buck Posted November 6, 2017 Members Posted November 6, 2017 We'll be near there Thursday and Friday I believe. We hunted Saturday morning and it was fairly slow, lots and lots of high flyers though. @BilletHead I've been wanting to hunt Horton Bottoms for a while, but were going to wait until later in the season for mallards to show up, and hope the river gets out and floods the woods.
wily Posted November 8, 2017 Author Posted November 8, 2017 Thanks for tips everyone...I am packing now...and I have 2 stupid questions...do you need chairs or seats for the blinds? And should I worry about a throwable floation device? I don't have one...had a boat for dang near 20 years...thanks

I doubt you will be checked for a throwable device but you never know as they have been cracking down the last two years. I have never been checked on 4 rivers and now will be jinxed since I said that . I have an extra you are welcome to use when you head up this way if you want. Do you still have my phone number? I am pretty close to where you will be hunting. If you get into a bind or forget anything let me know and I will try to help. Have a safe trip and a terrific hunt with your boys, BilletHead Johnsfolly 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" wily Posted November 8, 2017 Author Posted November 8, 2017 Yes sir...I sure do. Thanks Ihear ya on the jinx.I will holler if I need some help...me and my 2 boys...and a buddy's son. So I am a little on edge with having a guest...but it should be fun. If I can get this time under my belt...we'll be good to go more often. Might try to get one of the walk to spots and leave boat on the truck... Johnsfolly and BilletHead 2
BilletHead Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 Wasn't asking for an invite buddy just if you need anything while you are in my neck of the woods. You have your hands full already and you don't need another in your way . Shot two mallard drakes West of where you will be hunting. I imagine I will be trying again in the morning if all goes well, BilletHead Johnsfolly 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!"
