On tags that is, still have a antlerless rifle and guess now 2 antlerless archery tags left ;).

5 sits in the past 3 days (2 mornings and 3 late afternoons) in the Pumpkin Patch camo and finally decided to let grandpa's ol' J.C Higgins model 50 .30-.06 with the original Weaver scope bark last night.  Was covered up in deer, does and spikes and a 6pt, for about 45 minutes before this 8 pt stepped into the field and presented me with a shot at 59 yds.  Spun a 180 when he was hit and ran 50 yds before literally hitting a fence and flipping over it into a dry creek bottom where he landed into his final resting place.  Not one of the one I've been after but after hearing numerous shots from neighboring properties, didn't wasn't to pass on a decent buck for down here.

Inherited the rifle years ago and label with his name on it has been on it since the 70's and that's where it's going to stay.

Thanks Ketchup.  It's the only rifle I have ever taken deer with and one of my boys knows that he is getting it next when the time is right, aka when I get my first grand child, to continue the tradition ;).

John congrats on a nice rifle buck! I use my dad's old Mossberg 22 mag for small game. It's close to 60 years old. Lots of good memories in mine. Keep making memories with your rifle and share those with your kids and grandkids (when you have them☺).
