Gave up on the stripers and went back in Indian to chase smallies, which was my reason for launching there.  Never did find much of a bite, caught 3 smallies in the 12-14" range on jigs and Ned. 

Caught a nice walleye (released) pictured above, I was swimming a jig back to the boat when he hit it.  I'm also pretty sure I had another  good one on earlier that got off.  I believe that if a person went back in Indian and worked a swim jig with a paddle tail trailer around the rocks and trees you have a decent chance at putting a good walleye or two in the boat.  It's not going to be a numbers game, and you're going to have to fish hard, but the opportunity is there.  I might give it another shot later this week and target some walleye (maybe I'll catch a good smallie if I chase wallies ).

You can get right in a hurry with a zoom fluke in glimmer blue. Try it sometime. Let it fall slowly with twitch every now and then. They will come up to get it. Once you fire them up the action comes a little quicker.

I’ve been telling myself to try a fluke for top water striper for years.  I just never have.  Bet it would be killer though.

I here of folks catching bass on the magnum fluke. Don’t see why a striper wouldn’t eat it. A good ole drop shot setup works well too. Just throw it where the fish surfaced and slowly retrieve it back.

Sounds like fun to me. I bet an hour before dark with a jerk bait would be killer !

Stripers like flukes slow falling and twitched like a JB - make sure your rod has enough backbone for a good short hookset, they will try to flat take it out of your hands.

I’ve got a double fluke rig set up on the boat now.  Waiting on the wife to get back from Cali so I can test it on Striper.  I’m sure it’ll work.
