Basfis Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 I searched for fishing logs and did find some good info and a link to an excel template. All good. Years ago I had a binder with copies from an old Midwest bass magazine (or something similar). Fast forward, I’ve looked at a couple apps and what I’ve seen is fairly elementary and lacking some detail (where, temps, barometer, skied, recent weather, etc). I hate using a computer at home and would really like a phone/cloud based platform. Anyone found one they are happy with and how searchable is it?
Basfis Posted December 7, 2017 Author Posted December 7, 2017 To add, no interest in gps location of catches, pictures of catches, social media sharing, etc. nuts and bolts of conditions and results for future reference. Bass Yakker 1
Flysmallie Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Try Google Sheets. It’s a spreadsheet like Excel but a little simpler. You would be able to create the data fields that interest you, and completely customize it to fit your needs. It’s available offline but also cloud based so you can access your information from any device. Check it out and if you need some help figuring it out or setting up your sheet send me a PM. I’m a spreadsheet nerd.
fishinwrench Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 I do all of mine on 12 sticky notes, one for each month. At the end of the year I move them to a word document and name it the year number. For the quickest reference I just look at the month in question (previous years) in my photo gallery. One quick glance and all the important details come right back into memory. Carl W 1
Dutch Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 I made one up several years ago on a spreadsheet. It only takes a few minutes to fill in the data when I get home from a trip.
Longball22 Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 If you haven't ever played around with Microsoft OneNote, it's a pretty powerful platform. You can set up notebooks in the cloud, and sync them through your computer, phone, etc. You can also paste in pictures and all that fun stuff. I don't use it for fishing, but I take skeleton notes for work on my phone, then I can go home and fill in the details/clean it up on my laptop.
Flysmallie Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 OneNote is available on iPhone. But it’s search capabilities aren’t as good as a spreadsheet.
