My hat is off to you.  I'm not that tough any more.  I'll be lucky if I can get away from the fire long enough to get a load of wood tomorrow.  Good luck.  Catch a bunch.

Kitty litter works pretty good also..use to carry a bag of it in my van years ago.

If your going to Ruark, you can go in the East campground and use the gravel ramp in the back of the cove at the south end of the park.  Or Take the east road across from Son Sac Marine and follow that road east to a gravel ramp.

I always have Kitty Litter or a broken "Sand Log" in the truck, during the winter..

I would not use the  scoop-able or clump-able kitty litter that is popular now.  Trust me,  some of these dissolve into a slimy clump and will make things worse.   Kinda like putting oil on ice.  I would use sand instead unless you have a know litter that works.    I know people that carried litter in their car for years for emergencies to learn this lesson the hard way.

Ashes work just about as good as anything, if you have a fireplace or wood furnace.

Do not unhook your bow eye if before backing to launch depth if below 32. Had a near miss once. you will stop sliding after your rear tires are in the water.

Long story and the lessons above were my take away.
