Thanks for the heads up on spot lock . I can’t be going overboard in water this cold. 

I’ve seen the i-Pilot in action on Terrova. But I haven’t seen the copilot or auto pilot version of the PD. So what the  difference in those 2? 

I just need to Dodge logs & stumps . I might buy a cheap stern mount right now, just so I can get from point A to point B. Then upgrade to a powerderive

I have a pond prowler and I put a 55 pound thrust with a tiller extension on the front so I can sit farther back. 

Works great.

I have a 3 yr old Terrova, ,it has internal gps, which is not as good as the newer Terrova and Ultrex with external puck for spot lock. As Archdale said all of them will occasionally lose contact or get blown off course, and will make a powerful push to correct itself, been to my knees a few times in a 20ft. Champion.  The issue I see on either for a Kayak is deployment and weight, the Ulterra would solve the deployment, but takes at least 24 volts so....too much weight.  I have seen some guys on Taney in the Rockaway beach area with transom mt units somehow attached near the seat sideways so they can deploy and operate sitting, you might want to post over there as I know at least one of them is a OA member.

I'm gonna buy a powerdrive 55lb with co-pilot. Its a lot cheaper than i-pilot & doesn't have spot lock, so I wont get thrown out. Lol

darn those look clean!  Do you have to register your boat if you add a trolling motor?  I am assuming you will have to have some additional lighting as well if you do.

Technically, yes. I know of some that don’t, but legally you do have to in the state of Missouri. Not sure about the lighting though.
