Cabela's closing the bargain caves

As I have always said,Bass Pro is the highest place to shop for anything.You can without fail find it cheaper anywhere else.Cabelas will soon be the same.

Ya, I agree bass pro is way over priced...  When you add in shipping and tax...it is way too high...I get a small gift card every year for Christmas...and can barely bring myself to spend it on-line.

I shop cabelas bargain cave on-line quite a bit for clothes...I hope they keep it going.  Quality stuff at a great price.  

I think cabelas house brand clothes are much better than bps branded

Just spent a while in the local cave. 

 

It's been picked over pretty clean like a pork spare rib at a bbq joint in Memphis.  Not much of anything left unless you'e a female with small feet, a really bug or really small person (clothing wise) or some oddball items.  And baseball caps.  Lots of caps.  And Styrofoam fishing bobbers.  Not much fishing anything left. 

 

All optics case clean. Not even dust left over. 

 

There are great deals on meat smokers though. Someone could get an awesome deal on a new smoker.  Clearance sale.

I've found that their prices are generally inline with similar stuff in other brick and mortar stores. There are exceptions where they are way out of line, though.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see where Cabela's ends up. Starting to look like they may be Bass Pro stores with a Cabela's sign outside.

Well, looks this may be getting reversed. Seems our store here in Rogers will be getting dicked with a lot, because it's the closest Cabela's to Springfield, MO. So they will try stuff on us first to see how they roll out. Anyway, they are starting to restock the Cave. I talked to several employees and a manager there yesterday who said they'd gotten a lot of blowback about closing it, so are reconsidering it. I sure hope they keep it open.

I also learned that if they had (or do) close the Cave, the merchandise that would have ended up in there would be put on the shelves near the new merchandise and marked down.
