snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 5 or 6x i like like rio flouroflex plus
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 12, 2018 Root Admin Posted February 12, 2018 I like either the Rio florocarbon or the mono. Leader - Rio 12 ft 3x. Then I add tippet to that.
mikeak Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 rio flouro 6 or 4 lb test ,leader and tippet in one
netboy Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 I just use 6 feet of 8lb mono for the leader and then 6x fluorocarbon for the tippet. Reason being is that you easily slide your strike indicator up and down the non tapered leader. I use this rig to make the indicator easier to slide without kinking the leader... https://www.deneki.com/2014/08/adjustable-indicator-rigs/
Gavin Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Longer is better. Usually use a tapered mono leader of fishing dry. 9' 3x or 12' 3x plus tippet of choice. If fishing subsurface its a 3ft piece of heavy mono, 5-8 ft of 10lb flouro to tippet and the first fly. Slide your indi on the long straight sections if you use one. A micro glo ball works great as a sighter first fly if fishing two with no Indy.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Sorry I got interrupted on my last post. 9' 3X leader with a loop on the end then attach tippet.
