Trolling rod holders

Looking to install some rod holders on Dad's aluminum bass Tracker so he can troll and take my Kids when I have to work and can't go.  Which one do you guys recommend??

I like the RAM holders, you can remove them and it just leaves the small little ball on the boat

I have those on the sides of my boat and then a custom holder that goes in the rear pedestal seat hoe that i run 2 rods off the back with

I like a dual angle rod holder. Something like 0 or 5 degrees is nice for trolling and then around 30-45 degrees for anchor fishing. I've got Monsters on my boat, but I really like the looks of "The Rage" rod holder from fishbiterodholders.com. Drifmaster Duo Pro's are great too. As far as I know, fishbite and Driftmaster are the only ones that offer left hand threaded rod holders. The left hand threads are preferable for rod holders that are on the portside of the boat since they will be getting tighter instead of looser when spun towards the transom of the boat. I've had mine come loose on hard strikes from catfish and when trolling dipsy divers since mine are all right hand threaded. If you're just trolling little stuff for smaller fish, then the thread direction most likely won't matter.

I’ve been using the Pro Cat from http://www.eliterodholders.com/ for about three years now. Just outfitted my new boat with the Precision Troll’s. I haven’t been able to use them much yet because of work and water conditions on Truman and upper LOZ but they are really nice. You can adjust to any rod angle you wish and they offer left hand threads like Seth mention’s above. They cost a bit more than others but I really like the ability to adjust to any angle. I run 4 across the back of my boat and 4 on each side. When fishing off the back of the boat I adjust the outside holders lower than the center and it helps to keep your lines from getting together.

Driftmaster Pros.  If you go this route make sure to order reverse thread for your port side mounts and you will have no worries even with a 50# Blue Cat or 30# Striper trying to steal your gear.  They have numerous angles and duals - I run neutrals on each side and angled in the front(boards)and rear.  Easily removed and stowed.

What will you be fishing for?  I fish for walleye and crappie and have used driftmasters and bee line.  I like being able to adjust the distance my rod tip rides above the water w/ the bee line. I  have an attachment on my driftmaster jr. that allows me to stow the rod vertically when travelling down the lake.  Couldn't recommend either if you are drifting for big cats, but they meet my needs.

Just crappie and walleyes, and  nothing too serious. he just thinks having some rod holders installed would be nice  for when takes both my kids by himself ( my 2 can be a handful)  to were they don't have  be casting and getting hung up every two seconds in a brush pile, he can cover lot of water by  just going  up and bluffs and across flats and just let them reel  the fish in when they hit the bait.

I have 3 of the driftmaster Jr.s that I won't use  again.  They all 3 have the vertical pole holders with them which make it handy going down the lake, less chance of the little ones getting into them or stepping on the rods.  You can install them and try them out if you wish. Just pm me, come to Springfield pretty regular, but my son lives there and could send them w/ him.

Does  anybody do that on Stockton?  I figured too much brush was left behind.

I haven't seen anyone, don't think  there are any blues or whites, but some folks might argue that.  There are plenty of flats to troll, with occasional MDC or private brushpile.  If theres a bump in the road I'll find it.
