Members audiochem Posted February 28, 2018 Members Posted February 28, 2018 When does the trolling bite start to pick up?
Members audiochem Posted March 2, 2018 Author Members Posted March 2, 2018 Aw c’mon. This was a serious question. The trolling bite was excellent last year, but I don’t know when it starts. I’ve got some relatives coming to town at the end of March and it would be a lot easier to just troll (given their age) thanks
Ketchup Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Water temps play more factors than date. If we continue with these warm days/nights and warm rain it wont be long. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
nomolites Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 I mostly fish LOZ but usually whites and crappie can be caught easily trolling once the water starts warming in the upper ends of the creeks. They will suspend and feed in the upper basins on the way in and out of their spawning areas. I usually don’t do well trolling for walleye until after they finish spawning. Mike
frying eyes Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 In my experience around 60 degree water temperature is when it starts being good

dan hufferd Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 I guess it depends on what and how fast you troll. bfishn 1
dan hufferd Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 I have always wanted to try a 3 way swivel weight and a flat rap or other floating stickbait. That you could work slow enough for any water temp. I might give it a whirl tomorrow.
nomolites Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 I catch lots of whites and crappie in 45 degree water...don’t do much good on walleye and stripers until 65+. Mike dan hufferd 1
