oghfm Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 Eleven 12 inchers and 2 illegals and a token rubber fish. Started at 10 off at 2, big lull between 11:30 and 1 because of dain bramage, should have changed colors sooner. They were liking brown/chartreuse early, ended up preferring bluegrass. Not bashful, good thumps 16-18 fow about 2-3 foot off the bottom. Met a father/son team, Mark and Lance. Nice visit. Also, just thinking out loud, is there any way to neuter drum? Members markgrantham Posted March 15, 2018 Members Posted March 15, 2018 It was great to be able to talk to you on the water yesterday! We truly appreciated the conversation and the tips! No one fisherman knows it all and we continue to learn and pick up tips every time we run into somebody like yourself. Thanks again!
straw hat Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 "Also, just thinking out loud, is there any way to neuter drum? " The best way I have found is dynamite. You could chum an area and then perform a mass circumcision. Just kidding. lol oghfm 1

JCreek Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 Anybody tried eating one? I know they did up along the Mo river years ago. People up there tend to get bored and try anything. I haven't caught one since the 80's. I've been so skunked lately, would probably try one myself!
MOPanfisher Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 I have eaten a few in years past, was strange. You might have one that was fine and roughly equivalent to a bass fillet and the next one would be tough and chewey, never figured out a way to tell the difderence. trythisonemv 1

My dad was from the depression and they ate what they found, but I remember a fish market in St Joseph as a boy where they sold drum as well as buffalo. I've never had either. I've eaten white bass, though. A guy can get hungry for fish! trythisonemv 1
