Al Agnew Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Yeah, I didn't see it on the website, either, though I didn't look past the Vagabond page. Probably somewhere around 400 pounds, comparable to other solo canoes of the same length.
timinmo Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 So, Fishfighter, did you order the canoe? From a dealer close to you? When will you get it? I think I am looking for a new solo.
Members Fishfighter Posted April 22, 2018 Author Members Posted April 22, 2018 Here she is! Oxblood color. Dealer was Ozark Adventures in Springfield, MO. They were very good to deal with, highly recommended. I had to stop at this spot on the river on the way back and try her out. I didn't get much time in, but I really like it. It is quite fast and responsive. This is a great boat for me. Gavin, KLiK, Daryk Campbell Sr and 6 others 9
tjm Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 yep, congratulations and wish you many fish in her. That's a pretty color.
Members Fishfighter Posted April 23, 2018 Author Members Posted April 23, 2018 Oh yeah, I love the color. And the finish is unbelievable. Of course I will have her scratched up in no time I'm sure.
Members Alex Chang Posted September 23, 2021 Members Posted September 23, 2021 @Fishfighter - any updates on your experiences with the fox 14? I'm considering it, but I like to fish (main reason for the canoe) and a little concerned about the limited primary stability. I also plan to pack it down for over night trips as well. @Al Agnew - I know you are a big solo canoe guy. Are canoes with little primary (but more secondary) stability still serviceable as fishing vessels? I'm also considering the Esquif Adirondack. It's significantly more affordable, but only at 12ft long, which I hear is not an optimal length. https://esquif.com/en/canoe/adirondack/
ColdWaterFshr Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 I'm not a fan of those small stubby canoes in the 12 footer range. Get yourself a 15 footer at least. Like the Esquif Prospecter 15. Much more stable, won't draft as much water, offers more flexibility for camping, more room to lay out your rods and gear. Easy to solo a 15 footer too. What kind of rivers do like to fish? And how big a dude are you Alex? Terrierman 1
moguy1973 Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 How do those with pickups transport, say, a 15' canoe? My truck has a 5.5' bed and even putting one of those at an angle it will stick out quite a bit if I would throw it in the back.
