There's no way we wake them was my point.  I've been that guy fishing on Table Rock and had idiots in wake boats buzz our tower too many times.

Depends how far off plane you come and on the boat. My boat plows bad above about 5mph if it's not planed out. It is better for me to go by someone at 30mph than 10mph. That said, if there isn't ample room it is safer to just cut it down to idle and get past the traffic. Idle isn't always possible if trying to avoid other boats going too fast through a tight spot. Worst case would rather throw a wake than have a collision.
