Thinking about upgrading from my Striker 4 to something with side scan.

It's looking like the Garmin Striker 7sv is the cheapest at 400 bucks. I'm very happy with the striker 4, it's been a great little unit.

Anything else worth looking at?

I like my Garmin Echomap 7sv which is pretty much the Striker with GPS maps included.  The side imaging is really clear and it works well.

I have the same unit. Very happy with it. The touch screen is really great. You can focus more on driving and less on buttons.

I have an older model that isn't touchscreen and I find myself trying to move the map by touching the screen.  It would be a nice feature to have.

I'd go try to find a used Helix gen 1 or even a 998 core Humminbird unit. I'm still running my Humminbird 998 hdsi and it serves me well. I think I've seen those for around $400 or maybe even less. Going with a used unit will allow you afford a bigger screen and that screen size is very nice to have with side imaging. The images are crisper on the newer units than my 998, but I can still find brush and everything I need with it.

In my boat, bigger is not necessarily better. It's going to be a challenge to mount the 7" unit somewhere that it isn't in the way.

Funny, this sonar costs almost as much as I paid for the boat.

I've kept my eyes open for used units, but haven't seen much of anything, let alone a SI unit.
