I had my brother with me and he caught a Sauger, or at least that is what I determined it to be. It was not a walleye. He thought he caught a walleye, but once I got a good look at it in the light it certainly was something else. I called one of my buddy's dads the next day and he was convinced it was a sauger based on my description.Only one I have ever seen or caught. Certainly never saw one come out of Stockton growing up. A few years ago while trolling for walleye in March up Kings we caught what we thought was a sauger....the markings were different from a walleye ....I dunno MickinMO 1 Gone but not forgotten Martin Ford
rps Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 I caught a sauger across the channel from Fletchers Devils Dive about 5 or 6 years ago. I guess they are hold overs from when the lake was a river. terryj1024 and MickinMO 2

There are a few around..not many. Catch them mostly in the big river systems Used to catch a lot in fort peck in Montana, and lake sakakawea in North Dakota generally the big river systems. They are a cool fish with teeth no doubt. They lack the white spot on tail and are generally more slender and mottled than walleye. terryj1024 1
