netboy Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Fished a bit downstream of Ranchette this morning. Started out tossing an olive woolly bugger at shoreline structure from the boat and hooked a nice brown (pic 1) a few minutes into the drift. Then hooked a smaller brown (pic 2) a few minutes later. Caught 6 or 7 rainbows doing the same thing and had another nice brown follow a small rainbow up to the boat. Got down to a nice shoal area and anchored the boat along the shoreline and got out and started wading. Caught a bunch of rainbows and another decent brown (pic 3). Nice morning and not very many boats for a Saturday. If you blow up the last pic you will see my fishing buddy for the morning... about a 1,000 pound angus bull that was grazing on the island. Greasy B Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Awesome fish. That island has been a favorite for a long time, we would run up from the ramp at Buffalo City and make that our first stop as we floated back down. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Ham Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 I saw you rolling out this morning. I made a lot of progress re-organizing my fly fishing stuff before heading into work. Glad you had a Good Trip. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
