gurzik Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 First time on Grand. Wife and I decided to try a new lake closer to the house this year. Beautiful place!! The area we were in was a lot shallower than I expected which worked to my advantage. Found fish on main lake points, and off shore humps. Have to say the people of Grove were extremely courteous and helpful. Quillback 1
Quillback Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Some good fish for this time of year. How was the boat traffic?
gurzik Posted July 26, 2018 Author Posted July 26, 2018 Might have seen a total of 15 other boats, and only one pair of jet skis. It was a very nice change from the rock.
ollie Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 If you need to know the fishing on Grand go to the grandlakefishingreport on FB. Lots of info on the lake and what is hitting what. Glad you enjoyed your time! Nice fish too. gurzik 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
5bites Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Nice solid fish. My favorite lake for strictly fishing. gurzik 1
gurzik Posted July 27, 2018 Author Posted July 27, 2018 Thanks Ollie, will definitely check that out on our next trip. Will definitely go back again.
wily Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 We went this evening...just got home...it's midnight as I type. It must just be me...but I think the lake is in the tank...I think it has gotten worse and worse for the past couple of years. We caught quite a few white bass before it got dark...looked for the green ones after dark...and really struggled to find any...I caught a couple drum. Boy caught one largemouth...we called it quits about 11 and came home. We fished monkey island area
ollie Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 I guess it all depends on what you are fishing for. The crappie, white bass, and cats are on fire this year from all the reports I am seeing. Now the black bass I don't know about, but the winning sack at the Elite series was a serious load of bass that took the win!
