i know their are many honest people .the bad ones get the press.another guy reported finding and attempting to return rods and reels in this forum

i believe almost all of our forum fisherman would have done the same thing dennis did but it's still worth reporting

i did it out of respect for dennis as i know he would not make a big deal of it

You did a good thing reporting this here, tv tom. Made me smile. I'm sure Dennis doesn't see himself as a hero.

Y'all must just hang out with a sketchy bunch.  I know more guys/gals like Mr. Shorb than I do otherwise.   The payoff for being a decent person far outweighs the benefit of stumbling across a few hundred bucks.  You sleep better, eat better, love better, it's easier to smile from the inside, and walk around with your head held high.

I think most people turn out good in the end, but honestly you have to experience what it feels like to shortchange someone before you realize how rotten it feels later on.

Pretty accurate description right here of a CONSCIENCE. Everyone has surely heard the old saying, "Whatever you do today, you'll have to sleep with tonight."

I'm sure either one of my friends would have done the same, and I would gladly  add Dennis to the short list.

This is great!

Doing a good deed, it turns out, makes both involved parties feel good....and that good vibe even extends to witnesses of the good deed.  Want to feel better?  Do something nice for somebody else.

I dropped a box of flies.  I had stuck an address sticker in the box with my phone number ( I have so many fly boxes now, I haven't kept up with that practice). A guy found it, called, and returned it.  Nice!

I found a cell phone while fishing after dark at a city park.  I found a number on it that seemed worth calling (Might have been "Mom" or "Dad"), called and was able to return the phone to the parents of the teenager who had lost it while fishing.
