Members Skell9653 Posted October 11, 2018 Members Posted October 11, 2018 Who else is ready for the trout pit to be stocked again? If you hit it at the right time it makes for a good fun day. I'm getting my Bass Hound boat rigged up with a bigger trolling motor and plan on doing a lot of fishing on the public pits this year.

Members Skell9653 Posted January 18, 2019 Author Members Posted January 18, 2019 @Flysmallie if you haven't fished the trout pit make it a weekend trip to the Mined Land Wildlife Area and fish for crappie as well. It's well worth a small trip and fishing the trout pit can be a good time with a different kind of fishing.

Used to fish that area a bunch when I was a kid. But I would rather chase some bass over there when it's warm. Is camping allowed?
ollie Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 I thought they rented cabins over there? I thought I saw that maybe? "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Members Skell9653 Posted January 19, 2019 Author Members Posted January 19, 2019 There are a couple cabins you can rent right next to the trout pit. They look pretty nice but I've never stayed there myself.
CoolHandFluke Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 My brother stays there about once a year. Hard to get reservations. Booked up like a year out.
