Members Get_Tha_Net Posted November 26, 2018 Members Posted November 26, 2018 Started out bass fishing in the Hickory Creek area to no avail. I happened to run into my wife's uncle on the water and he turned me onto a crappie bite. I've never specifically targeted crappie on Beaver but love to eat them so we decided to chase them. Started fishing bush piles, standing timber and the tops of trees with Bobby Garland split tail shad on a jig head just reeling extremely slow. Caught them up on the bank from 2-4 and suspended in trees 4-8 ft. Ended up with 40 between my brother, his son and myself. Pic below was of the biggest one. Caught a couple bass and whites mixed in as well. Also, ignore the purple life jacket. My wife's was the only one I had small enough that would fit him. Lance34, Dan the fisherman, snagged in outlet 3 and 5 others 8
Quillback Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Nice crappie! That's some really good crappie fishing, congrats!
Members Get_Tha_Net Posted November 26, 2018 Author Members Posted November 26, 2018 Nothing I did. If it wasn't for my wife's uncle I wouldn't have caught any. That guy catches them almost every time he goes. I was just lucky enough he showed me everything needed to catch them.
