Dkman Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 Anyone else happen to fish this past Friday the 30th with any luck?? We put in at CC and it was a bust. We tried everything! I am a novice and still trying to learn cold water fishing but thought I would at least stumble into some! Was still worth the trip though! Watched two bald eagles feeding on a fish on a mud flat. Pretty cool!
Dutch Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 I fished for crappie. I had 21 with 13 of them keepers. My fish were + - 30' deep. I caught them on home made stingers in baby bass and my version of the electric chicken. I talked to a guy on the parking lot who caught 10 blacks with 5 of them keepers on crank baits.

Mostly fished 3/4 oz jig with creature, large tube on 1 oz head, jigging spoon and jerkbait. And I fished hard and slow. Never had a single bump. Not happy about and it, does not happen that often and do not love Stockton any less but man oh man was it slow. Fished all of the locations that a week ago produced a lot of fish. I am not but I had a guy with me that was a guide on Truman for years who is a very accomplished bass fisherman. Neither of us had even a swipe on our offerings. 2018 was a very different year for me on Stockton than in my past and I worked harder this year for my fish. Humbled me a few times this year! Kind of sacrilegious to use work and fish in the same sentence. I will be better about that from now on. liphunter and dan hufferd 1 1 BOTH POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON! Ronald Reagan
dan hufferd Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 I found baby walleye, and a nursery for of small mouth. Not good, your not alone, really neat evening to be on the water. There was a cool change in air pressure in the evening, I thought for sure the fish would bite, nope. I probably should have thrown a jerk bait all day.

Some were real solid and some just keepers. Two on a ned and the rest on a jig. I have been struggling to get a moving bait bite for a few weeks. I know it’s there but I’m either not dedicated enough or am just missing something. Maybe it’s different for others but they seem very grouped up to me. I’ve done lots and lots of idling lately. I’ve seen quite a few schools of crappie. One day I’ll try to catch them that way I can spread my disgust among multiple species.
