It's because the link that is created from Google Photos is not a link to that image but rather a link to that page where the photo resides. This has to do with the way that Google Photo stores your images. Also unless you have changed the settings it's not showing the true image but a lower resolution of the original. The forum doesn't see an image file so it has no idea how to handle it.

Nope, doesn't even work when you create a link to a specific image in google photo's.

Sorry, it was a cool side imaging pic of crappie stacked under the dock I was fishing.

Your only option is to upload it here. I couldn't find anyway to make it work from Google Photos.

Maybe admin can make the forum compatible with one of the #1 photo hosts.   WHat are you suposed to do currently, upload it here and then link it to the post?

Actually I just found a way to make it happen. When you open the image in Google Photos right click on it and select "Copy Image Address". Paste that obnoxiously long link here and it will show the photo like below. Now that's if you are doing it from a computer. If you are doing it from a phone then I don't know.

Google Photos might be listed as one of the top photo hosting sites out there but I run across very few people using it. Flickr is a better option if you are looking for free hosting.

Yeah definitely not a fan of Google Photos. Even the one I did get to work on my laptop will not show up when I look at the site through my phone. 

I found this in the Google Photos Help section. This not something that Phil can just fix here.
