jig heads

looking to tie some basic marabou jigs for whites, crappie and trout.  I'll use em primarily on a fly rod but will put headier ones on a spinning rod.  size range from 1/8 down to 1/100.

what jig head do you use for these jigs?  straight shank or you do you prefer a barb on the bottom of the jig head to hold the material on, like a more traditional style of jighead? 

do you powder coat your own or buy em already colored?  Im thinking already painted sounds alot easier.

http://I don't tie that small 1/32 is as small as I use.  I pour and paint my own.  I use a fluid bed and powder paint my heads.  I use a ball head or minnow head and like to tie straight to the hook with no lead appendages to get in my way and make the jigs too bulky and awkward looking.

I buy most of my jigs heads from flatheadjig.com or stock up on the new Lilleys jig head when I get down to Taneycomo. Powder painting is preferable, but I've been using Sally Hansens nail polish on my jig heads for years. I like a collared jig for anything 1/32oz and heavier, but collarless for anything smaller.

if you pour at all the Do it Molds "walleye jig" is a flat sided jig perfect for taney.  I pour my own and tie my own.  A lot of sense of pride in doing that and I'm able to put an awesomely sharp hook in mine.

ive never poured.  BUT i did just get a LOAD of lead from an estate sale.  im thinking of trying it.
