Members Ranger Dave
I recommend the Duracell batteries made by East Penn sold at Sam's. They have a size 27 and a 31. I think the 27 was around $87 and the 31 was around $99. Larry Eby

Seems Pro-Guide does not have anything DC other than 27's, without going AGM which my old Mercury won't handle. Duracells are cheap but don't have the capacity of the Pro-Guides. I had no luck trying Walmart battteries. Need at least three DC's for the 36V trolling motor. Currently running three Pro Guide 27's but least one is bad after eight years. Why can't your "old Merc" handle an AGM? AGM"s are better across the board except price. I have ran AGM starting batteries for prob 10 years. EFi motors don't take as many cranking amps as the DFI's do vernon

Not saying it is the best but value wise the are pretty hard to beat. I don't run them anymore but I had good luck with them. I believe higher RC than Proguide last time I checked... They are $62 a piece for 27's right now...hard to beat that
moguy1973
I like the Exides that I bought at Menards. Decent price too. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

I've also run AGM's (Cabela's) for about ten years - truly maintenance free and (for ten years anyways) worry free and have no intentions of going back to lead/acid. More expensive initially although lead/acid batteries are doing their best to catch up in that department the last five years or so. "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." PM me a price on the 31 if you don't' mind. They do have commercial 31 series still available.

Your motor doesn't know what is pushing that electricity to it, just how much and how hard it is pushing. I ran a Diehard Platinum in my last boat and it ran 3 graphs (HDS-5 and two Elite 7's) all day long without a hiccup. They came with a 4 year warranty, but looks like it is the "Advanced" Gold now, with a 3 year warranty. https://www.sears.com/diehard-advanced-gold-agm-battery-group-size-34/p-02850734000P?plpSellerId=Sears&prdNo=9&blockNo=9&blockType=G9
