Hunter53 Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Has anyone used one of these yet? If so how did it actually work? http://fish.shimano.com/content/fish/northamerica/us/en/homepage/Shimano_Product_Page.P-CURADO_DC.html
Members Rockhopper Posted March 11, 2019 Members Posted March 11, 2019 I've got 2. Used them last Fall to throw crankbaits and they worked flawlessly. I was impressed! Read the setup instructions and they work as advertised. There is a dial, 1-4, for different lines you may throw; braid, mono, fluoro, etc. I throw 30lb power pro, setting for braid is 2. Not even a quarter turn overspin without even using my thumb to stop the spool. Couldn't believe it! Tried setting 1 and it did backlash, so again, follow the setup instructions and it does the job. magicwormman and Daryk Campbell Sr 2
edyer Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 I like the one I bought last fall. The mini computer makes a low whining noise when you cast it.
Dock-in-it Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Has anyone used one with air temps below freezing, where you have a little ice in the guides and on the reel face where the line enters?
Members ranger185 Posted March 12, 2019 Members Posted March 12, 2019 I haven't had mine out it those conditions but I doubt it would be a issue as the DC system is under the side plate and sealed. I agree with the other's they are a neat deal, I have 2 and will probably get more. They are really just a Curado k with it's own version of the DC braking system and a 150 size spool. Champ188 1
