Al Agnew Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 A few guys, mainly guides, use driftboats in the Ozarks. Not a traditional craft for the region. Nice to fish from as long as you have a good guy on the oars. Like the oars on the jetboat...that would come in handy fishing fast water where the boat is too shallow for the trolling motor. I spend nearly half the year in Montana (Livingston--Yellowstone River) and wish I had a jetboat out there to fish places like the lower Yellowstone for smallmouth.
rps Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Several/many of the people on this forum really know what they are talking about. Several of those have already responded to your thread. North Fork of the White River - drift boats and kayaks. White River below Bull Shoals dam - drift boat parts of the Meramac and Gasconade Rivers - jet boat Upper Bull Shoals and upper Table Rock, in the riverine sections - Alumnacraft - hunt walleyes Good luck and count yourself lucky to be there! camburgersoup and Greasy B 2

Sounds like the life! I'd be heading up there right about now. I never got a chance to fish that part of the state, I've heard there are smallmouth there. Maybe I'll have to take the jetboat up there. I'd like to take it to LOG on Holter lake and the lower Flathead too. I usually fished the rivers around Missoula like the Bitterroot, Clark Fork and Blackfoot (Also the MO, Beaverhead and Big Hole). I never really did any whitewater but I can maneuver some tight spots with the oars. My favorite place to bass fish was Noxon Rapids Reservoir up by Thompson Falls. The largemouth bass in the picture on my first post was caught there. 7 hours ago, Bgctrading said: Welcome to the area I'm from Marshfield as well. I've been liking it a lot so far, everyone has been great. I like living in Marshfield too, it has everything I need and seems like a good location.
Members llbaker2 Posted August 15, 2019 Members Posted August 15, 2019 Hey Camburgersoup What part of MT? I lived in Bozeman/Belgrade from 2003 thru 2008. Nice place to be. I live near Rolla MO on the north central edge of the Ozarks. I got a few yrs on you. Im recently retired. Do a lot of mid week fishing in attempt to avoid crowds. If you have interest in jet boat fishing or yaking in the Ozarks give me a shout sometime.
