MrGiggles Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Put in at Crabtree tonight after getting my trailer back together. Trolled the flats North of Mutton. Found 1 crappie. Trolled a point close by and found a couple drum, nothing really in that area to speak of. I decided to hit a spot on the way back that I had caught some fish in about a month ago, an island which is now submerged. Caught three eyes from 15.5-22", which is my PB. Not really sure what is so special about that spot, but they're in there. 18-20 feet, trolling chart and jointed purple tiger flicker shads. Crappie was on blue tiger. liphunter, Rootman, terryj1024 and 9 others 11 1 -Austin
Rootman Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Great job finding them! How is the water level up there now ?
Members tracman86 Posted July 11, 2019 Members Posted July 11, 2019 I think I may have seen you on the flat up from mutton. I was in a older ranger graphing the break from the flat to deeper water. Tough bite out there! Was not many boats on the water.

Was wondering what you were doing, thought you might have been running bouncers. -Austin
Members Walleye guy Posted July 11, 2019 Members Posted July 11, 2019 I’ve been trying the flats north of mutton all year since I camp at mutton. Haven’t been able to get a consistent bite going there yet this year. Seems to be better within a few miles of the dam.
Members tracman86 Posted July 11, 2019 Members Posted July 11, 2019 Yep that was us. We caught a few large mouth but not what we were hoping for. I wish they would open the gates! liphunter and MrGiggles 2
Old dog 417 Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 Good job MrGiggles! Tough tough year on Stockton but you're making things work. Some of us haven't put together even one 3 "Wally" day yet this year so color me impressed! od
