After a pretty long drought of not getting any fishing time,  that changed today.  With temps round 60, overcast skies, and the river guage about where I like it,  I headed to the river with a friend of mine J.D from church. He fished current river years ago but hasn’t smallmouthed fished in 30 years, however he’s a very good angler just hasn’t been on the rivers.  We caught several fish today, some in current still, some in holes and some in between.  Used everything from jigs to jerkbaits and cranks but towards the end of the day J.D started lighting them up on the old tried and true gitzit. Before the day ended he managed to catch his personal best Smallie after 69 years of life!   Fantastic day, just a blessing to live near  and be able to fish in the Ozarks!

There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
