https://mdc.mo.gov/newsroom/test-your-fishing-skills-through-mdc’s-first-blue-ribbon-trout-slam

Looks like MDC has partnered with trout unlimited to allow you to log/report your catches and end up with a pin and medallion depending on number of streams that you complete.

I'm feeling intrigued, I've never fished any of the sections and I'm really not a trout fisherman but I am thinking about trying it out.

Tell me under normal conditions, what would be the most difficult sections to complete?

  • Barren Fork Creek in Shannon County
  • Blue Springs Creek in Crawford County
  • Crane Creek in Lawrence County
  • Current River in Dent County
  • Eleven Point River in Oregon County
  • Little Piney Creek in Phelps County
  • Mill Creek in Phelps County
  • North Fork of the White River in Ozark County
  • Spring Creek in Phelps County

I love the way MDC comes up with rewards to pound their streams.  I remember what happened when they put a bounty tag on smallmouth years ago.

Have caught fish on all of them...The little 6" trout are not hard to catch...Barren Fork didn't seem to have many fish, but I caught some. Was not worth a return trip, but its really close to Pulltite CG on the Current...Not far from Echo Bluff. Have fished all the others several times..Usually stick to the Current, Eleven Point, & NFOW in that order. Catching little wild trout was a pursuit of mine years ago. They are cute, but the novelty wore off over time. You could fish all of those in a weekend if you wanted too...Has been done.
