netboy Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 We had over an inch of rain in the Cotter area last night so the river was brown this morning. I took the boat up to the dam to find clear water and then got out and waded an area that is good on the one unit of water they were running. Fishing was great with some really fat rainbows, one cuttie and a nice brown. I caught some early stripping a crackleback and then switched to a Y2K/ruby midge combo later in the morning. I guess today may have been the last day for wading since they are supposed to open the spill gates tomorrow. Here's a few pics... nomolites, dpitt, BilletHead and 3 others 6
Ham Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 I'm not 100% sure why the trout are so much Bigger than I am used to, but they are. Going back to before Jigfest, I had noticed the trout were getting Bigger. Then Quillback and I caught 4 or 5 Rainbows over 20 inches in one day. I didn't think I would ever see that again, but I went one Sunday and had 2 over 21, 2 over 20, and a 19 as well as some 18's. Lots of > 16 inch Rainbows and they ain't skinny.
