Bill Babler Posted August 2, 2020 Author Posted August 2, 2020 TD, The trout are just something you run into from time to time. I think the guides have reported catching more this year than ever, mostly in the Baxter and Roaring River area. High water has backed up into these trout areas and let them free to swim. Baxter fish mostly coming from Dog Wood Canyon and the Roaring River fish pretty self explanatory, with the exception of coming down the White out of Ark. Bgctrading Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 We found a point like that today on walleye out of ants Creek they would not bite as well but we caught 10 or so were assuming the rest of them on our screen or walleye and like you our livescope was just covered with fish they just wouldn't bite that well. And the wake boats finally beat us off the water at noon.
Members okie Posted August 3, 2020 Members Posted August 3, 2020 We were down two weeks ago, and I think we ended up with about 35 walleyes in a day and a half. they were all dinks, probably 6 to 14 or 15 inches, and all came on a dixie jet spoon from boat stalls. Just happened on to the first stall in the Campbell Point area and probably had 15 from this single stall. Seemed like we would get a couple from every dock in the area both on both days. Bass were extremely slow however. Must be a bunch of walters swimming around down there, and I kept thinking we would get a couple of larger specimens for the pan, but no such luck. FWIW
DADAKOTA Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 Bill - Did you go back and see if they were still there? What an outstanding day you had.
