Sweet!  Got to see a bald snag a fish out of the water about 50 yards out from our dock last Friday.  I never get tired of seeing stuff like that.

The eagles here, during the white bass run, are famous for eating the eyeballs and picking out the egg sacks....then leaving the rest to rot.

Other critters aren't likely to get the rest because they deposit the carcass on an island out in the middle of the flat.

I saw a bald eagle harassing a golden eagle that was sitting in top of a dead tree way up Lindley Creek one day.  The golden looked to be 4x of the bald eagle.

These were all 12 to 13 inches and thrown back before my dad next could get his hands on them hahaha

Yeah it can be tough to throw em back.  I will rarely keep more than 10 cuz thats about how many fish im typically willing to clean lol.  I don't see many people at TDL fishing for crappie, i think the clear water pushes them deeper than most people like to crappie fish.  Almost all the folks I see fishing are beating the banks for bass.  I typically catch a bunch of dink bass when I try, but anything over 15 inches is rare.  I did catch a 21 inch lm from Marseilles a few years back, so I know they are there.

Also, I bet your place is really great there! Id sure love a house on one of the lakes!  I have a camper. (I'm trailer trash🤣)
