MoCarp Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 Seems weeds are becoming an issue in the lake....question is why? And can anything be done about it....is it bad? Or is it more fish habitat? Ideas? Opinions? MONKEYS? what monkeys?
snagged in outlet 3 Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 It’s been like that down there for years.
tjm Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 It all depends. Are they invasive species? I think in general weeds are beneficial in that they provide nursery areas for many species and some protection for prey species, but ... There are some weeds that are undesirable and there are limits to how extensive the proliferation and the benefit versus detrimental effects. Pond management goals would dictate what is or isn't desirable.
netboy Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Coontail weeds hold lots of insect life. That is always a good place to fish a dry fly here on the White river.
